So maybe we will all six go out somewhere for dinner. We get along better now than we did 60 years ago. Could that be because we all live in different states?

When I was in eighth grade, my sister went off to college. I missed her a lot at first, then started talking to her online and on the phone. I discovered that we got along much, much better when we were talking over a long distance than when she's, say, living at home with me right now and talking to me face to face. Oh, we have our sisterly moments, but it's different, somehow.

Maybe distance breeds more friendship? Or maybe older sisters have less patience with their younger sisters living under the same roof. That would be an interesting study, actually. Whether or not gender and age difference affects sibling relationships.
