fantasy quest 2- refresher and maybe some guidance?

This is my inventory:
17 Onions

Crown of Destiny

Bottle Opener

Pliers

Sword
Sack

Float Ring

Cross

Iron Support

Rusty Key
Small Silver Coin

Sap Tap

Coconut

Red Potion

Goo
Silver Key

Bucket

Huge Ladder

Green Potion

It's been awhile since I've played, I don't really remember what has happened but I don't want to do something really dumb and mess up my game either..i dont really want to start over.. can someone give me a brief summary of what has happened, where i am now, and maybe a couple steps of what i should do next? (hints please =P) I'm guessing I was stuck, why else would i abandon the game for months lol?

This is what is says on my screen:

"You wend your way through the mountain pass, sheer cliffs on both sides, and at some points no wider than your shoulders. The ascent is steep but manageable. You are in a narrow defile that cuts through an east-west mountain range. The narrow path gets steep here, climbing up to the east almost as sharply as the cliffs to either side. You're not sure you can make it up.

In a crevice in the cliff is an opening to a pitch black cavern."

Help.
