Everything is a blur today. That's because I broke my glasses last night. Actually, I smashed my glasses last night, and because I was wearing them at the time, I also smashed my face.

We are down in Georgia, and I guess I'll wait until I get home to get new glasses.

Last night, as it was just getting dark, I remembered that Cosmo, the kid's black Lab, was still tied outside. Cosmo is friendly to a fault, and a little bit afraid of the dark, so I went outside to bring him into the garage for the night. In his rush to get inside, he gave me a yank that caused me to meet the concrete driveway face first. One lens was shattered and the frames of my glasses were bent like a Chinese puzzle. I also had a number of small cuts and scrapes on my face and one hand. Even my knees are a little sore.

The most obvious damage is a black eye that is almost a black half of a face. It's really more of a black purple, and blue half a face, probably with more colors to come in a few days.

I was sort of ugly before this happened, so I am hopeful that I will look better after I heal.

This is beginning to sound like a fractured fairy tale, so I guess the moral to this story is if you happen to fall, try not to land on your face.
