I was excited about Sky Captain since the first time I saw a poster for it, and I saw it in the theater and later bought it on DVD. It ROCKED. It was like someone took old movie serials and comic strips from the 1930s and made a movie out of them using much better technology than they had ever had back then, without ever losing sight of what made those old movies and comics so much fun. I think I love it more every time I watch it, especially now that I've seen some of the old Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon shorts. It's too bad that Sky Captain didn't do very well at the box office, or they might have made more of them. Jude Law is a great Sky Captain, and Gwyneth Paltrow is great as the reporter/girlfriend/foil. I didn't really care for Angelina Jolie, but then I have never cared for her and wish she'd stop making movies. Oh well.
