Right. I guess that was a generic "you" meaning that none of us can be 14 forever. I've been doing a holding action with reasonable success, but ever now and then a year or two slips in there.

It's always a mild shock when they grow up faster than you expect. My grandson, Chris, grew about ten inches in just over a year. That was a big shock. Another jolt will be in April when our firstborn turns 50.

I think Liface has always had a mind that was way ahead of his years. Plenty of kids have trouble adapting to that, but usually by the time they are in college, it all evens out. I think he will do well in college. I'll be disappointed if he doesn't.
