Poetry Pool

Grounded

I was my own pixie
I floated in nonbeing
Above my own head
To enter my own body was
To enter a battlefield
Grown wild, untended
But no one noticed
No one can see
Past the composed dermis

Powerful words
Whispered with authority
Traverse the tunnels of ear
To a pixie
Floating in nonbeing above my head
And pluck the dust from her eyes
And she is transported back
To the skullcage
She sees spots and screams
Hands fly up to stranger's features
Regard them for the first time
After a lifetime.
