Terry Gilliam's grim futuristic tale is original, unpredictable, and full of innovative twists, with first rate performances from its cast. Its only major flaw is the last five minutes which, especially compared to the previous two hours, is predictable and anticlimactic. Still well worth a viewing, given this forewarning.
