Reviews and Comments

In the thirties and forties, comedy/murder-mysteries were popular, and William Powell was and still is noted for playing the lead in these types of films. The most famous are the entries in The Thin Man series, but this lesser known effort is every bit as good. Jean Arthur, playing the title character, helps Powell solve a mystery at the race track in a story similar to Shadow of the Thin Man that would be made five years later.
