If we cared anything at all about the characters in this noir-like crime and corruption plot, maybe this film would amount to something. If the characters weren't all irrational plot-slaves, maybe we'd care about them. If the plot made sense, maybe its characters wouldn't be irrational slaves to it. If wishes were roses, I'd have a flower garden instead of this movie.
