This pre-French New Wave short film by Jacques Doniol-Valcroze is an interesting but ultimately forgettable story about a country girl who moves to Paris and finds its night life too addicting for her own good. The film seeks to expose the busy and artificial routines of modern life as emotionally unhealthy, but I'm not sure it's entirely convincing, as we never see how the moods of the characters change, only that they change. Still, it has its moments. It's also noteworthy for being an early writing effort by Francois Truffaut, who collaborated on the screenplay.
