Reviews and Comments

Chances Are is a clever variant of the supernatural premise of Here Comes Mr. Jordan and other comic fantasies that involve people coming back from the dead to tie up loose ends. In this one, a man, killed when hit by a car, is reincarnated but mistakenly left with a dormant memory of his previous life. He meets his former wife and daughter, and the ramifications of such a predicament are weird, to say the least. The movie takes its premise and its characters seriously; a stand-out performance from Cybill Shepherd and a strong, often funny turn by Robert Downey, Jr. cement our interest with the characters.
